Website Development and Content Management Systems
I have many years experience of developing sites in a variety of languages including basic HTML/CSS but also using ColdFusion, PHP and JavaScript. In recent years I've been a developer within the Percussion CM Server (Rhythmyx) content management system. This system requires me to develop in Velocity and JCR queries in the MS SQL server back-end.
I work closely with designers and content editors to develop and maintain a variety of websites from small owner managed SMEs to large scale University website of over 21,000 content items. Key areas of work include:
Online marketing
Over the last few years one of the major parts of my role has not been as a technical developer but to develop and promote the website content. This means that I've taken a major role in all stages of the project lifecycle including:
Photography
As a keen photographer I've often been asked to support functions as a photographer. Many of my images have been used by the University and external organisations both online or printed marketing material.
I have included a number of examples of my work including images that have been using for magazines, for PR within the BBC news website and on the Cranfield University websites.
